Project Impact
Having examined real cases and conducted a study visit to a successful cooperative in Losyatyn, participants gained not only theoretical knowledge but also practical understanding of how agricultural cooperation can increase income level and economic sustainability of rural areas.
This initiative laid the foundations for a transition from individual farming to effective business partnerships, which is crucial for the community’s economic empowerment.
Results
- Two one-day training sessions with 20 residents participating in each. During these events, participants explored international and Ukrainian best practices for successful agricultural cooperatives and assessed the advantages and disadvantages of this model by analyzing real-world case studies.
- A study visit to Losyatyn village in Kremenets district of Ternopil region, where 40 participants gained firsthand insights into successful specialized agricultural production and the operation of service cooperatives.
The project “Uniting Efforts – Driving Prosperity Together” was implemented as part of the “Young Democracy School” project, carried out by the Christian Culture Foundation “Znak” (Poland), the NGO “Youth Alternative” (Ukraine), and the Foundation for Local Initiatives of Donetsk Region (Ukraine). The initiative was part of the Democracy Support Program, co-financed by the Polish development cooperation program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland and the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD).
