Adult Education: Key to Success and Development of Small Communities

The “Adult Education: Key to Success and Development of Small Communities” project aims to improve access to high-quality education for adults in rural areas.

Implementation Period: 2020 – 2021

Project goal: To develop communication models between non-governmental organizations and local authorities to create lifelong learning opportunities for residents of small communities, promote adult education locally, and specifically enhance IT competencies.

Project Impact

Adult education is a process of personal and professional growth that helps individuals adapt to social, economic, and other societal changes. For small communities residents, access to quality adult education is often limited, which limits their employment opportunities, self-realization, and active civic participation.

This project addresses these challenges by establishing effective communication channels between civil society and local government.

Results

• Throughout 2020, InSource conducted the campaign “Supporting Adult Education: Key to Success and Development of the Ivanivka Community.” The effort focused on advocating for the adoption of a formal policy by the Ivanivka Village Council.
• A “Regulation on the Implementation and Support of Adult Education in the Ivanivka Territorial Community” project has been developed and officially approved during a village council session.
• In 2021, InSource launched the educational program “Digital Technologies Are Simple” for adult learners in the community.
• A series of 7 training workshops was held, reaching over 120 participants from various social groups within the local population.

The project was implemented with the support of the Public Union “Ukrainian Adult Education Association” and DVV International Ukraine.
