“Stezha: Secrets of the Tovtry” is a project dedicated to the preservation, reflection, and promotion of local cultural heritage, as well as the enhancement of the tourism potential of the Sataniv Territorial Community.

Project goal: To preserve and popularize the national and local tangible and natural cultural heritage of the Sataniv territorial community by creating the “Stezha: Secrets of the Tovtry” interactive cultural and recreational route.
Project Impact
Sataniv is more than just a resort town on the banks of the Zbruch River. It is a crossroad of empires, religions, cultures, and languages. Here, the remnants of pagan sanctuaries stand alongside 15th-century stone gates, while an ancient synagogue serves as a reminder of a multicultural past. This land preserves the memory of Volhvs, Jewish communities, and Ukrainian millers. At the same time, it is a living community with immense potential for sustainable development through the reimagining of its cultural heritage.
At the same time, a significant number of these sites remain largely unknown, even within the internal tourism sector. We aim to change this by establishing a sustainable foundation for the cultural and economic development of the area.
Objectives
- To create an interactive cultural and recreational product.
- To develop a physical tourist route and its digital counterpart.
- To increase the accessibility of the cultural and natural heritage of the Sataniv territorial community.
- To promote the cultural and natural heritage of the Sataniv territorial community and elevate its significance in society, while respecting cultural rights and ensuring barrier-free access for all citizens and communities.

- Marking of a 32-kilometer physical tourist route

- An awareness campaign highlighting lesser-known yet unique locations within the community

The “Stezha: Secrets of the Tovtry” project was implemented by InSource: Center for Development of Initiatives in cooperation with the Sataniv Village Council and the NGO “Oseredok Zmin”, with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation within the “Cultural Heritage” grant program.
