“Soliana Vezha” (Salt Tower) Tourist Recreation Center

“Soliana Vezha” (Salt Tower) Tourist Recreation Center is a project about rehabilitation and mental relaxation, accessible to everyone.

Partner: Lanivtsi Urban Territorial Community, Ternopil Region.

Implementation Period: 2024 – 2025

Project goal: To construct a unique space providing rehabilitation conditions for individuals with physical and psychological health concerns, while simultaneously enhancing the tourism appeal of the Lanivtsi community.

Objectives

  1. Construction of a halotherapy-focused location

Establishing a facility for the rehabilitation of people with physical and psychological health concerns within the Lanivtsi community.

  1. Information campaign

Fostering the increase in the number of tourists visiting the Lanivtsi Territorial Community.

  1. Video production

Sharing the story of the “Soliana Vezha” (Salt Tower) space and the project’s impact.

  1. Wellness route development

Creating a specialized route with art therapy elements for local residents, specifically veterans and military personnel of the Ternopil region.

Funding

“Soliana Vezha” (Salt Tower) Tourist Recreation Center is implemented in cooperation with the Lanivtsi City Council under the “Enhanced Partnership for Sustainable Recovery” (EPSR) project. It is funded by the Government of Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine.

Results

  • A functional location featuring halotherapy elements.
  • An information campaign to boost tourism.
  • A video documenting the creation and features of the “Soliana Vezha” (Salt Tower) space.
  • A wellness route incorporating art therapy.
  • Three wellness and therapy tours for veterans, military personnel, and their families.
  • A final conference presenting the project’s results.

Project Impact

“Soliana Vezha” is about more than just tourism – it is about supporting those in need of physical and psychological rehabilitation.

The tourist recreational space is designed for the mental recovery of military personnel, veterans, and individuals with psychological or physical trauma, as well as for community residents and visitors.

Crucially, a core focus of the project is inclusive local economic development. InSource is striving to make tourist locations accessible to everyone, which is why the “Soliana Vezha” space is built in full compliance with barrier-free accessibility standards.
